pola love.

I honestly can’t think of a single photography format that I don’t love, save the ones I haven’t yet experienced.  This is one of the most satisfying passions I’ve ever experienced.  I adore both the thrill of the instant gratification of digital and Polaroids and also the delicious anticipation of having film developed.  The whole shizzle just gets me all weak in the knees and gooey in the girl bits.

Here are some Polaroids I took today.  Sadly, they don’t scan very well; my scanner is what is making those sticky/smudgy bits on them and the colors don’t translate well.  They are AMAZING and perfectly exposed in person which never fails to surprise me.  The Land Cameras are so bare bones that it’s hard to imagine getting such a pristine image out of something so archaic.  I love it.  It is beauty.  It is just pure beauty.

Dakota took my face in his tiny hands last night, looked deeply into my eyes and said, very seriously, “Mama, you are an artist,” to which I replied, “And you are my masterpiece.”

  1. Polaroids rock, especially in your hands. I have an SX-70 buried somewhere that I should dig out.

That Dakota kid is pretty damn cool, too. xo
